What are the running costs ?
On HIGH 7·42 pence per hour [plus VAT] and on LOW 3.82 pence per hour [plus VAT].
What are the safety features ?
A flame supervision device and an oxygen depletion sensor are fitted as standard.
What is an oxygen depletion sensor ?
This device detects when the oxygen levels in the room fall below a specified level and causes the pilot flame to lift off. This in turn causes the flame supervision device to operate and cut off gas to the main burner. The appliance is then rendered safe.
Are they easy to light and operate ?
A simple to use control knob incorporates a piezo spark ignition which lights the pilot as you turn the control.
What is the coke and coal lever [natural gas version only] ?
At the flick of a lever this cleverly designed feature allows you to choose between dancing yellow flames or the hotter blue flames of a coke fire, and extra warmth.
Do the fires comply with the latest European safety requirements ?
Yes. The Designer is tested to comply with the European Gas Appliance Directive and carries the CE mark to identify this.
What ventilation is normally required ?
No additional ventilation is normally required when installing the appliance. Your CORGI registered installer will draw your attention to any irregularities which may lead to the requirements of additional ventilation.
Is this fire suitable for installation into a traditional fireplace or pre-cast flue blocks ?
Yes. Both. They are cleverly designed to fit into virtually every standard fireplace produced. The firebox is iSomm deep allowing installation into most pre-cast flues. The appliance can also be fitted into traditional fireplace openings with or without the removal of chair bricks [firebacks]. A rebated surround may be required for some installations.
Do the fires need an electrical supply ?
ONLY the Powaflue requires an electrical supply as it is fan assisted, and requires electricity to drive the fan.
Are there a wide choice of finishes ?
Yes, there are three types of non traditional cast frames available, Black, Silver and Antiqued Brass. The Elegance and Elysee are the two exclusive cast fronts and are available in either a Black, Silver, or Antiqued Brass finish along with a Black briquette or plain fire back.
