Yes,
that's right, even rooms with no existing, natural draft, chimney
or gas flue can now enjoy all the charm and visual appeal of an open,
coal effect, gas fire. These clever Powaflue fires have their own
fan assisted flue, which is fitted straight through any suitable external
wall.

INSTALLATION:
This appliance must only be installed by a qualified CORGI installer in
accordance with the installation instructions. The fire must only be installed
against a suitable external wall having a thickness between 75mm and 725
mm. The required terminal duct length will depend on installation method
adopted. The extraction terminal will be located immediately behind the
fire, on the outside wall. The terminal location must be such that the
expelled combustion products cannot be blown back into the property or
any adjacent property. The fire must be fitted onto or into a non-combustible
surface (i.e. a brick cavity wall).
FIREPLACE REQUIREMENTS: Clearance above appliance to a combustible
shelf which has a projection not more than 150mm (6"), must be at least
835mm (33") above the hearths top surface. For a deeper combustible shelf
you will need to increase this clearance (see instructions). .
Ventilation:
Purpose provided ventilation (air brick) is not normally required. However,
the installer must take account of any other appliance fitted in the same
room or space and the result of the spillage test. For republic of Ireland
ventilation should be provided in accordance with IS813, ICP3, and IS327.
Fireplace requirements: A non-combustible fireplace having a minimum
opening 385mm wide, 545mm high. The traditional 16"X22" opening is suitable.
A 20mm deep spacer frame is available for use in shallow fire openings
or to enable installation into low temperature fire surround packages.
The required minimum depth of the fire opening may vary. This is due to
the safety zone behind the fire having to be larger for flues that have
previously used for solid fuel fires. Minimum depth for a new flue is
145mm. A 20mm spacer frame is available for shallower fireplace openings.
A non-combustible hearth must extend a minimum of 100mm (4") in front
of the live part of the fire bed and have a minimum width of 680mm (26.8").
The hearths top surface should be 50mm (2") above the level of the surrounding
floor or have a fixed fender of the same height around its perimeter.
WARNING: As with any fire, a fixed fire guard should be used when
the fire is used in the presence of pets, children, the elderly or the
infirm. The energy input and output figures for these appliances have
been assessed in accordance with the latest European standards. However
performance may vary under fluctuations in flue conditions.
