Efficiency is something of which we have become very much aware
and the Versailles is one of the most efficient coal effect
gas fires currently available. The glass front enables more
of the energy to be converted into usable warmth, in fact 80%
(net) efficiency is what you will enjoy with this new fire.
Over 4kW of combined radiant and convected heat, will be more
than sufficient to create an extra warm welcome for your guests
when they arrive on a cold evening. Coupled with the realistic
coal fire effect, the Versailles provides that special heart
to your home that guests might be reluctant to leave, even the
family cat would approve of this fire.

Flue requirements: For Standard Version
Precast block flue system with a minimum internal free area of 12500mm˛
Brick or stone flue with 225mm (9") X 225mm (9") minimum or175mm
(7") internal diameter. Twin walled flue manufactured to BS715 with
a minimum internal diameter of 125mm (5") Lined brick or stone flue
with a minimum internal diameter of 125mm (5") Chimneys should be
swept prior to installation and any combustible material removed
from the fire opening. All flues must be properly installed having
a minimum effective height if 3 metres (9' 9")
Installation:
The fire must be installed by a qualified CORGI installer in accordance
with the installation instructions. Existing chair brick may remain
in situ providing the minimum spigot clearance is met. Clearance
above appliance to a combustible shelf which has a projection not
more than 150mm (6"), must be at least 835mm (33") above the hearths
top surface. For a deeper combustible shelf you will need to increase
this clearance (see instructions).
Ventilation:
Purpose provided ventilation (air brick) is not normally required.
However, the installer must take account of any other appliance
fitted in the same room or space and the result of the spillage
test. For republic of Ireland ventilation should be provided in
accordance with IS813, ICP3, and IS327.
Fireplace requirements: A non-combustible fireplace having
a minimum opening 385mm wide, 545mm high. The traditional 16"X22"
opening is suitable. A 20mm deep spacer frame is available for use
in shallow fire openings or to enable installation into low temperature
fire surround packages. The required minimum depth of the fire opening
may vary. This is due to the safety zone behind the fire having
to be larger for flues that have previously used for solid fuel
fires. Minimum depth for a new flue is 145mm. A 20mm spacer frame
is available for shallower fireplace openings. A non-combustible
hearth must extend a minimum of 100mm (4") in front of the live
part of the fire bed and have a minimum width of 680mm (26.8").
The hearths top surface should be 50mm (2") above the level of the
surrounding floor or have a fixed fender of the same height around
its perimeter.
WARNING: As with any fire, a fixed fire guard should be used
when the fire is used in the presence of pets, children, the elderly
or the infirm. The energy input and output figures for these appliances
have been assessed in accordance with the latest European standards.
However performance may vary under fluctuations in flue conditions.
